When Perry asks where Clark is, Lois tells him that he is at the dry cleaner's because they gave him the wrong shirts – Clark was actually at a charity golf game as Superman
Lois suggests to Clark – “Don’t you have to put money in the parking meter?” - to let Clark get away from dinner with Jimmy and Penny

LOIS LANE

• Is trying to throw a surprise party for Clark for his birthday (has already had one failed party)
• Is obsessively in love with Clark Kent
• Doesn’t think Superman can say ‘no’ and isn’t impressed with all the public appearances
• Set aside a day for both of them on the 16th
• Knew Superman got postcards and oatmeal scotchies but not fan mail
• Learns something new about Clark everyday
• Thought she recharged Clark
• Understands that Superman needs to experience the ‘good’ and when he flies home to her, she wants him ‘to be ok’
• Makes up an event to invite Superman on Saturday at the Regent Hotel for the Ladies Overseas Aid to get him there for his surprise party
• Has to cancel the party for Clark on Saturday at the Regent Hotel because he finds out the real event is at the Civic Center
• Thinks Penny is adorable but a little weird but cute


CLARK KENT

• It’s his Birthday (doesn’t mention his age)
• Tells Lois she wont get any work done because "you know what pasta does to me…"
• Lois sustains him
• Was home late after the oil fire in Detroit
• He tells Lois that he likes just the two of them together better than a surprise party


LOIS AND CLARK

• Needs to get better at their scheduling
• Been a busy couple of weeks for them and they have hardly seen each other
• Need to get their priorities straights because they hadn’t made love in 8 days 6 hrs 4 mins 2 secs


SUPERMAN

• Promised to do a ribbon cutting for a hospital re-opening in New Zealand
• Superman couldn’t say no to the golf tournament because it was ‘for the kids’
• Superman has a day planner and is booked into the next century (although not all dates are confirmed)
• Busy on the 16th
• Every couple of month’s he flies down to the post office and picks up all his mail, which he replies to at super speed
• The mail comes from everywhere and from everybody, including kids, sick people and lonely folks
• There was a black lacy bra amongst his mail!
• Tells Lois he sees so much of the bad in people and to see the good things recharges his spirit so the public appearances serve a purpose
• Oil from the oil fire came right out of his suit but the lipstick from Penny wouldn’t come out
• While he was flying home from the oil fire, he started thinking that Lois was right about prioritizing his time
• Called to confirm the Ladies Overseas lunch but was told it was at the Civic Centre


JIMMY OLSEN

• 97% match for superman – well that’s what Penny’s superman software says!
• Answers the phone as James Olsen
• Introduces himself as Jimmy to Penny – not James
• Started at the Daily Planet 4 years ago as office photo assistant
• Tells Penny he is now a Junior assistant city editor
• Admits to Penny that his social life is in the pits
• Buys a very blue suit because Penny wanted him to wear his blue suit, but he didn't know she meant the Superman costume.


PERRY WHITE

• Is invited by Lois to Clark’s surprise party on Saturday at the Regent Hotel and has to tell the front desk he is with the Overseas Ladies Aid
• Thought the only way to surprise Clark for his birthday was to surprise both Lois and Clark with a surprise party!


PENNY BARNES (BARNEBEEDIAN)

• Secretary at Diticom Technologies
• Thinks Jimmy is Superman because her software said he was a 97% match
• Lies to Jimmy about her last name and job to meet him
• Can speak French and Chinese and admits she has no social life either and has had time to brush up on her languages
• Thought Jimmy (Superman) would be taller
• Gets asked out all the time but is waiting for that special someone
• Calls Jimmy a junior assistant city editor crime fighter

• Wants to vaporize West Virginia with the Annihilator, stating, "maybe next time West Virginia will take more time coming up with an original name"
• Thinks Penny is Superman’s girlfriend and plans to hold her hostage and bribe Superman to finish the Annihilator


CHESTER PALADIN

• Friends with victim Steve McBride
• Representative of the Federal Office of Information for NASA.
• Contacted by Lois and Clark about McBride's disappearance
• Initially less than forthcoming with information, but later confided in Clark


CAPTAIN STEVE (STEVE-O) MCBRIDE

• Astronaut
• Vanishes 36 hours before the mission
• Ashy residue found in his driveway was later confirmed to be him
• One late alimony payment and a parking ticket
• Bribed by villain to finish Annihilator
• Pulls out of deal
• Everyone liked him and he had no enemies
• The space shuttle mission was supposed to be fixing a weather satellite

• Annihilator, the satellite platform, was put into orbit, but the power source, the pulse convertor, was not finished – turns anything of any size into ashes. (Honey-Braun owned the rights to the Annihilator, but went out of business when the government pulled the plug so Lois and Clark find out the buyers of Honey-Braun and narrow it down to, Lemco, Farber Industries, MacNamn Systems and Diticom Technologies.)
