Wow, Nan, the situation is grim ... at least you've got "Charlie" following Lois around, but right now the smoochie potential seems critically low biggrin

Thankfully, there is Lois's insatiable curiosity to be reckoned with -- she's seen "Charlie" do some impossible things, and will probably notice more as they go on. But I don't see how he's going to be able to regain his memory under current circumstances. I guess I'll have to keep reading! <img src="graemlins/happy.gif" border="0" alt="[Happy]" />

Nan this is very interesting. I hope Clark gets his memory back soon. Laura

Nan, I am REALLY, really, really enjoying this story. I was especially pleased when, as soon as I finished reading Part 2 this morning, Part 3 popped up!

I find myself worrying the most about Martha and Jonathan, who must be frantic by now, with no real way to track Clark down. Sigh.

I'm glad you have very valid and logical reasons for "Charlie" to stay away from the emergency room. In the meantime, I'm enjoying the mental picture of a glasses-less Clark, in jeans and a t-shirt, tagging along with Lois (I loved his instinctive defense of her in Part 2, and I always find it extremely endearing and adorable when he blushes), and I expect at some point he'll be surprising Lois (and maybe himself) as he can't help but ask questions at the press conference. But I could be wrong. biggrin

I also can't help but wonder if Cat exists in this universe and if she will do her pounce routine. If so, perhaps Lois's ...er...protective wink instincts will be aroused; after all, she DID find him. smile

Hi Nan,
Good part.

Charlie is not wearing glases, that mean Lois will not recognize Clark if she see him?

He don't see like a news room is helping him to remember.

More soon, please.

I'm completely confused as to what will happen next, stop it! you don't know how annoying I find it when I don't know what's going to happen! confused

anyway, I love this part, I had some bad news just now so this cheered me up biggrin although, as Pam said:
Quote:

frown I thing I'll survive though, I can't wait for Lois to see Clark doing other things which *should* hurt him but don't, I'd love to see her expression as she works it out biggrin I'm hoping that Clark will regain his memory in time to stop the large piece of Nightfall, or will it come down to earth and Clark rushes off to help the people affected without realising what or how he is doing it? confused

great story so far, well done for flumoxing me!

Pam shouldn't worry about the smoochie potential. There wasn't much in "A Night at the Office" either, but things improved with the two sequels. I've already decided that this one is going to have to have at least one sequel after Clark saves the Earth--with Lois's help, of course. biggrin

I read both parts 2 and 3 today, and I must say that I'm enjoying it immensely. This is still a very interesting situation, and there are so many ways which everything can go. I'll be interested to see if Clark does get listed as a missing person, and how Lois guides him along the path to being a superhero. Smoochies are a plus, too wink

Nan, good instalment.

Liked following Lois' thought processes as she moves through the day/night. She is a bit protective of Charlie but that's understandable. After all, he's hers since she is the one who found him. biggrin

It might be kind of funny if the biggest piece of Nightfall actually squashed Lois and Charlie flat. Or even better, if it crashed into LexTower... nah, no one would ever believe that.

Nan, I love this. It's almost unbearably suspenseful. I was reading so fast to try to find out what happens next that I was almost skimming.

Usually I love smoochies more than almost anything else, but this story is so exciting that it's one of those rare instances when I won't mind if there aren't any.

I love Clark's protectiveness and how Lois doesn't mind it too much for once. I loved it when he demonstrated his capability as a bodyguard in the last section and I can't wait to see him in action again. I enjoyed seeing Lois's mind working as she tried to put together the pieces of the puzzle; I can't wait until she figures it out! When she got restless and started walking around during the night, I was hoping that she would catch Clark floating in his sleep, but that would put an end to some of the suspense, wouldn't it? biggrin

I want more, more, more.

Nan, still enjoying this very much! Don't have much time for reading/commenting right now, so sorry for the short response - I echo the smoochie requests! wink

I'm thinking its going to be dicey when Superman shows up as the Planet newsroom has now seen Clark sans glasses...Better keep him hidden until Lois figures this out wink

I can't imagine Clark getting a missing persons report since Martha and Jonathan knew where he was going and the danger. Unless Lois decides to plaster Clark's face all over the paper to see if anyone claims him...which wouldn't bode well for the superhero either.

Please post more than once a week, (once a day would be very acceptable biggrin )...I'm loving this and logging on way to many times a day to look for updates!

I'll post as often as I can, but I've run out of cushion so the next part may take a little longer.

Part 4 is tacked onto Part 3 in order to comply with the request not to start new threads at this time. Anyone who wishes to comment to Part 4, please do so on this thread.

Hey Nan, I'm glad you figured a way to post new story parts smile

Good stuff here. I knew Lois would pick up on strange things about "Charlie" -- fascinating to find melted glasses at the crater, and unexpected, too -- but then Clark wouldn't have had any reason to take them off, would he? I'm glad he told her his dream, too; that'll be a huge clue once she's able to put it into proper perspective. Good to see her bristling over Cat, too wink

I'll be happy to read more, whenever you have it!
