"Bounce" New project with Dean

Guys, I've found this in the news of Dean's IMDB-site:

EXCLUSIVE: VH1 has greenlighted its first hourlong scripted pilot, Bounce. Newcomer Taylour Paige, Dean Cain and Kimberly Elise will star in the project, set in the world of professional basketball dancers, with Valery Ortiz and Katherine Bailess cast in supporting roles. Written by James LaRosa and be directed by Sanaa Hamri, Bounce follows the lives and loves of a team of professional basketball dancers. At its heart is Ahsha (Paige), a sheltered young woman who joins the squad against the wishes of her mother Sloane (Elise), who knows this treacherous, tempting world all too well having been a dancer herself. Cain will play the coach of the basketball team. Ortiz and Bailess will play two of the dancers, singe mother Raquel and former stripper Kyle. Bounce is executive produced by Maggie Malina and James LaRosa as well as VH1's Jill Holmes and Jeff Olde. Bounce follows in the footsteps of VH1's first hourlong series, the Queen Latifah-produced Single Ladies, which didn’t go through the traditional pilot stage — it originated as a movie. On the half-hour side, VH1's only effort so far was the Tori Spelling comedy NoTorious. Bailess is with Armada Partners and attorney Chad Christopher.

For me it sounds a new movie with Dean. But I don't know other infos yet.

Thanks Manu for the great find. I hope this show makes it too. It'll be great to see Dean on TV every week Sounds like a great job for Dean. He plays the basketball ooach of a group of beautiful women dancerrs. Beautiful women and sports. Two of his favorite things.

Haha June. I was thinking the same thing. Sounds like the perfect job for Dean.

Wonder if the people casting this show know that Dean likes them tall and blonde? If they cast them right, I can see a very long life for this show. He's a natural for sports with beautiful women. And those same women will be be very lucky to have him in the show, with a built in FOLC fanbase waiting to watch it each week.

I'm not really crazy about the shows VH1 put's out. Was kind of hoping to see Dean in something else.

Well, congrats to Dean, but I have to say, I'll be skipping this one. Dance and sports aren't my thing at all. I'd rather see Dean in something like Dexter.

This wouldn't normally be the type of programme I'd really watch but would obviously make an exception for Dean! Delighted to see there's a chance that he'll be in a TV series. Hope the pilot gets picked up and that the show does well. Thanks for the info.

Here we go again ... trying to make a balloon payment on all the properties. Dean will never be taken as a serious actor if he keeps signing on for projects like this. Sorry, Deano, I love you but you gotta stop taking crap just to pay the bills.

Times are tough Nancy and people need to do what they can to make money. I have two jobs and still live paycheck to paycheck.
Dean should do what he needs to do. This show could just be a stepping stone for him or could even be a big hit. No one can see into the future. Besides this show may be something Dean really wants to do. If Dean ever reads the board, I hope he knows that his fans love and support him in whatever he does. And just want him to be happy.

I agree Nordhoffms. Times are tough for a lot of people. I feel very fortunate to have my job (and generous parents who elevate my lifestyle a little.)

I applaud Dean for being hard working and taking care of his family. He has been working like a maniac. I'm loving all the family and faith based projects and the holiday movies that he's doing. He's done a variety of other projects too like "Sweetwater" and "Dirty Little Trick." I wish I could go to to the premiere of "Sweetwater," this week in AZ, but I have too much going on this year and can't afford the extra time off or money for an extra trip right now.

To be honest, Bounce is not the type of program I would normally watch either, but of course I'll watch because of Dean. I hope Dean has a great time doing the show and that it turns out to be funny/romantic/entertaining/cute and a huge success.

I kinda wish it was a tv movie, oh well!

Most pilots are actually done as a made-for-tv movie. Then, if they like what they see, the buy the idea.

For instance, Rag and Bone was intended to be a series and ended up only as a made-for-tv movie (and a really good one at that). I was really disappointed when it wasn't picked up as a series. I think it would have been great having Dean as a New Orleans cop who's helped by a ghost.

Actually, L&C's pilot was made as a tv movie, shot in widescreen for $8 million. If it hadn't been picked up as a series, they intended to release it as a movie in Europe.

He looks gorgeous! Wowowowow.

Kimberly Elise is a great actress too.

Actually, my first thought when I read it was "oh brother" and then my second thought was "Dean doesn't sing!" LOL

Ok, I am a bit confused, is this at the NBC press tour, or is it a separate event for the announcement of Bounce being picked up ? It's just that Dean appears to have the same outfit on.

OTRC showed a little bit of Dean's Operation Cupcake interview at Sprinkles on this weekend's show, talking about Bounce, interspersed with Kimberly Elise talking about Bounce too.

I saw on twitter that the airdate for "Bounce" is May 27th, Memorial Day.

Yeah Bounce was a better name than Hit the Floor. It was catchier, easier to remember, and more intriguing.

And 'Hit The Floor' sounds like a dumb name to me. All it makes me think of is the old joke "One tequila, two tequila, three tequila, FLOOR!" Bounce seemed to fit perfectly in two ways: the basketball and the cheerleaders. <shrug>

shrugs i think Hit the Floor is appropriate if the show is centering on the dance team and less on the basketball.

I agree Nordhoffms. I liked Bounce better too. I thought it was a catchier name, When I hear "Hit the Floor," I think of something a bank robber would say. lol! Anyway, I'm still looking forward to seeing the show and seeing Dean on TV every week. Can't wait.

Maybe he was asked to keep the beard until all the promotional stuff is over. As I'm sure it will be promoted heavily on tv, with interviews and stuff.

Also considering it is mostly about the cheer squad, "Bounce" is a more, shall I say, APT name?

Thanks Cain Crazy for the Fox News video. Great interview. Totally agree with Dean about big govt. being out of control, and the Benghazi scandal being the worst because 4 people died. The two brave Navy Seals died because they did ignore the orders to stand down and went to help anyway. I loved his joke about the supposedly "transparent" administration putting up a steel curtain so thick that "even Superman couldnt' see through it." Hee! Hee! I also love that the clean shaven look is back. He looks great in any look though.
