The Persistence of Memory, Part 3 -- Comments - 04/13/01 03:20 AM

Hoo boy. <fans self> wink

I *loved* that part; it was WAFFy and steamy and very, very funny and light-hearted -- My only complaint is that it cut off too soon. <G>

I'll start off the clamoring for more. <G>

Peace,

Oh, I loved it!! I LOLed at your "channeling Bruce Willis from a rejected Moonlighting script"! Talk about a great way to go in and fix all those moments in the show that didn't seem quite right. Can't wait to see what you do with the argh! I won't even bother to mention your terrific dialog, zoom. It's a given that you write L&C so I can hear Dean's and Teri's voices as they speak. Oh, BTW, is this the one you've been telling us is the non-nfic nfic wink?

I also loved the bit where Clark abandoned Toni and came over to cook dinner for Lois. And then when he told Lex that they didn't have any plans--just gonna fix dinner and go to bed early!!! LOL!! I was cheering, "Go, Clark!"

Hurry and post part 4!

Zoom -

Another brilliant 'episode'. It does my heart good to see Lex Luthor foiled at his attempts to 'charm' Lois Lane.

I always hated that about the series. The comic canon always had Lois at odds with Luthor from the start. She always could smell a rat, and Luthor was the biggest rat in Metropolis.

Hope to see part 4... soon!

Oh, this part was so great! Are you going to go through every moment that could have gone differently just like this? Because if you are, I certainly am not complaining! Everything has been written so well that you can just feel what the characters are feeling and experiencing. It's kind of fun going through and making every moment that I hated something Lois did or said turn out better! Thanks! smile

Very well done, Zoom. Lois seems to get control just in time! Its good that she gets to go back and see how her 'earlier self' behaved and I love it when Lex is thwarted smile

Zoom, I'm really enjoying this! You've helped me remember just why I loved this show so much the first time around smile

A pregnant Lois, our favorite scenes from our favorite episodes, and Lex getting his comeuppance--does it get any better than this? <IMG SRC="goofysmile.gif" border="0">

It's too late for this to be the final episode of the series (although it should have been ;)so Dean and Teri will just have to do it as a wrap-up film, preferably on the big screen tongue

Ah Zoom,

Another winner of a segment. You're gift for dialog has only become better with time. I am constantly amazed at what you can do with a few lines here and a few lines there. You manage to capture the essence of Lois and Clark. I can hear them so clearly in my head as I read.

I absolutely love the way you are altering each moment. Lex's frustation is priceless.

The Bruce Willis moment was hilarious.

Re: The Persistence of Memory, Part 3 -- Comments - 04/13/01 07:01 AM

Oh this must've been a lot of fun to write. Taking all the angst-filled mments from the first two seasons, times when so many of us were screaming at the TV for Lois to realize that Clark loves her and she really loves him, and putting a WAFFY happy face on all of them. Turning angst into WAFF in a Quantum Leap-type setting. Could it possibly get any better than this?

MORE! And thanks for posting this one so quickly.

This is so fun to be able to post comments about one of your stories Zoom!! You have always been the master at capturing the essence of the characters. So are you going to fix the robe lined with lead remark, too? wink
Thanks for posting so much so quickly, I hope you have the whole fic done somewhere in the back!

Fantastic, Zoom! Fixing up every moment we were yelling at the screen (and Lois ;)) without actually changing canon.

God bless super hearing and male posturing.

LOL! It's interesting to see Lois in on the secret and Clark completely oblivious to it, but dealing with a much *friendlier* Lois. And the dessert references - I love how you cut Lex down to size. <IMG SRC="cool.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="shades.gif" border="0">

Re: The Persistence of Memory, Part 3 -- Comments - 04/13/01 07:26 AM

Wow! This is strange. I mean usually Clark is the one who has to "save the day". And now Lois knows that Clark is superman and that she's the one who has to start their relationship. Great Story. Keep up the good work.

Wow, Zoom, this is shaping up to be such a wonderful story! As the others noted, I didn't understand all the technical details of the time distortion, but your premise is so neat! I love seeing Lois walk through these old memories and changing them subtly for the better.

I'll join the others clamoring for more! smile

I am loving this! What an original premise! It's a great way to let Lois do what we would have liked her to do in those scenes.

MORE!

Zoom!
I can't believe I've been nagging you for years that you'd write on this story and now I nearly missed you posting it!

I already told you that I love the premise! I'm really curious how Lois is going to manage to find the extactly right pace for this.

I LOLed at the new version of the Metroclub story. After all, I know how much you detested Charlie King! I must admit, I liked this version much better, too!

I'm with Sheila, it's so nice to read your dialogues. It's like a deja vu of hearing Dean and Teri talking in Lois and Clark. smile

More soon!

Re: The Persistence of Memory, Part 3 -- Comments - 04/13/01 05:16 PM

Oh, this is wonderful! So amusing - downright hilarious at times - and so WAFFy as well! But there is angst as well - how about all those times when Lois makes progress only to be tugged out of her past self? wink

My favourite of the rewritten scenes in here - much as I like Lex getting rejected - has to be Lois hugging Clark in the ASU scene. Just perfect! smile

So, Zoom, how does it feel to be on the receiving end of all these wonderful comment folders? biggrin

Re: The Persistence of Memory, Part 3 -- Comments - 04/13/01 05:51 PM

This is certainly turning into a fun ride. The different interaction, and Lois' frustration at not being in control of her previous self is facinating to watch. The scene from the pilot reminded me of a "what if" that struck me a couple of days ago. What if, when Lois was just about to go out and celebrate with Clark and suddenly remembered her interview with Luthor, Clark had been a)supportive of a potential interview coup, cool concerned that "there is something not right about that guy, so be careful", c) set up a rain check for the next day. I'm not sure where that would go, but it could be interesting (if it is written by someone other than me, that is. Anyone out there, please feel free...)

Anyway, I've decided not to lurk quite as much on the new boards, and figured this would be a good time to start.

Let's see, what was that common posting line?..... Oh yes, I remember.
This is great MORE.

Re: The Persistence of Memory, Part 3 -- Comments - 04/14/01 08:29 PM

Yeah, what they said! <g> This is great! The Bruce Willis line was probably the funniest, but I really *really* enjoyed all the ways Lois found to discourage Lex. Wonderful!! Telling him she's going to go have dessert with Clark ... wonder if Clark's superhearing had caught her earlier remark? wink And then the whole "just don't ask, a couple of what" thing was hilarious. And then that hug... I'm so glad she hugged him, the poor boy needed it, I just hope it doesn't mess things up ... guess I'd better go read part 4, post haste! smile
