I started reading this title because I was interested in the author's decision to base Super-Man on popular Chinese legends and stories (Journey to the West and The Monkey King)and so far it's fun to see non American characters in familiar roles. His symbol is a little different but the octagon is a Taoist symbol that will be important to the character's development.
I hope to get my students interested in it this year so we can study Chinese myths and legends and compare the two heroes.
It's not going to be for everyone, but anyone interested in other cultures might learn something through comparison.
