I read that Skeet Ulrich was hired for one of the leads. At this point they apparently haven't cast any others yet.

The latest I've seen on this show is actually L&C-related. Jim Beaver was the criminal in ILTY and was at LAFF one year.

It's clear that the newest Law and Order series set in Los Angeles is trying to attract as many cult TV and sci-fi fans as possible. First the show got Jericho's Skeet Ulrich to star. Then it added Alfred Molina, aka Dr. Octopus from Spider-Man 2. Now Supernatural star Jim Beaver has been signed to guest star in the series premiere.

That's a lot of Comic-Con level street cred for a police procedural, almost as much as Hawaii Five-0 has with its cast of Lost, Moonlight and Battlestar Galactica alums.

The series premiere of Law and Order: Los Angeles (affectionately nicknamed LOLA) is scheduled for Wednesday, September 22 at 10pm on NBC. Beaver will play the father of a murdered woman, and I'm guessing demons aren't responsible.

My question is how are they filming this show without other stars cast yet???

Btw, I read a week or two ago that the first episode is based on the Bling Bunch who robbed celebrity homes like Paris Hilton's, etc.

Aww... I love Jim - had the chance to chat w/him @ LAFF in 2005. I'll tune in to the premier of LOLA just for him.

Little did I know @ the time, that he'd be starring in my next New Favorite Show... Supernatural! It comes a real close 2nd to L&C along w/Jensen Ackles coming in 2nd by the hair on his chinnie chin chin. But don't worry, Dean. You're still my #1.

Well, it looks like no Dean on Law and Order: Los Angeles. They just cast the other lead. And to answer my above question, it looks like the filming has been pushed back to August 2nd.

Bummer, I was so looking forward to Dean in a weekly series. Maybe he might guest star at some point.
